I'm a 22-year-old California-based painter. Writing and painting have been my passion since childhood. I'm currently a psychology student at UC San Diego with minors in Visual Arts and Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies. Through my art I explore the often overlooked aspects of culture and emotion.

I graduated from the Film and TV Conservatory at the Orange County School of the Arts (OCSA), where I wrote and directed multiple short films, notably an award-winning documentary, "Ghost Bikes," and "Esther's Ocean".

Deeply inspired by my roots in the Caucasus and my background in psychology and mindfulness, my work seek to look past the surface of culture and scenery into the rich inner worlds of its people. The hospitality, humility, warmth, and wisdom of villagers compel me to capture the untold stories sparkling in their eyes. I seek to honor their character in a way that invites both myself and the viewer to reflect on their own.

I have years of experience working with children including as an English teacher, a behavioral therapist, an art teacher, and currently the UCSD Early Childhood Education Center. I draw a lot of inspiration and understanding of the world from children.

With my art I hope we remember to see the beauty in, and try to understand, every person and every emotion around us- young and old, joyful and in sorrow.
